wait untill 8th grade at least!! geez you have your whole life to find somebody and its not like your going to find the person your going to marry in 6th grade. You can like someone but dont need to date in 6th grade your to young your 11 or 12 years old.
the problem is your parents think your growing up to fast and think that you will be spending less time with them if you start dating and are scared that you will give love to them instead of to them. or they just genuinely think that a 6th grade child shouldn't have a girlfriend because they might want to experiment.
grade 6 is ten yrs old. Some cultures think the age is not too young for learning how to be a soldier, or to work at a factory.

WHen you have a job, your own house, a college degree, your own money. "Young" is when you are still living off someone, like one or both parents.
You are too young because either a guy or girl won't take the relationship seriously enough or too seriously. Also the ultimate purpose of dating is to find the "one" and have a wedding and a baby shower. (haha) In 6th grade you a bit far from marrige and sex (i hope). So all dating becomes is a destraction from school. I hate to be the fun sucker and tell you this, but this my understanding of why you are too young to date at 6th grade.
